Just another rambling fool at WordPress.com

About Me

Welcome!

My main purpose for this blog is to put some of my photos online and share my passion for photography with others. Feedback is useful and highly encouraged … even if it’s just to say that a picture made you smile or helped you reconnect with a memory from your past. I shoot a Canon EOS 7D and use Lightroom for almost all my processing needs. Once in a great while I tinker with PS5 … but not very often because I find it overwhelming. If I dabble with HDR I try to keep it real.  (I use Photomatix)

I’m most interested in shooting animals, nature, wildlife, flowers (easy prey), macro and landscapes. I have two Australian Cattle Dogs a Rat Terrier and two horses: an Arabian and a Buckskin Quarter horse. Sometimes I get the opportunity to shoot other animals (wild or domestic) and I enjoy doing that quite a bit. I also like shooting things that tell or inspire the telling of a story.

Please don’t hesitate to leave comments …. suggestions and constructive critiques are always welcome. And be sure to visit my photo website at Smug Mug, which is where I showcase the best of what I’ve shot recently.

Thanks for visiting!

Cheryl

    • Hi Roger! I’m pretty much a rookie at blogging too! I’ve somehow managed to muddle my way through, but I’d be more than happy to share the confusion if you’d like! ;)

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Your dogs are fabulous – great photo of them!

I keep Shepherds – Blonde Shepherds right now (lucky gene event – they are extremely loyal, strong and protective…)

I would like to subscribe if you don’t mind?

    Your name caught me.

    ‘Rontu-Aru’

I read ‘Island of the Blue Dolphins’ many times – to myself and to my children.

Rontu Aru was one reason we loved the book so much *smile*

    Be well,
    M.L.

  6. Chancy and Mumsy

Thank you, for reading Baby Boy’s story. He is a sweet dog and should never have been treated like he was. He is very happy here with us now though. Hugs

    • You have a beautiful, kind heart and I thank you for taking such good care of those sweet, previously abused and unloved dogs. May they bring you much love and joy for many years to come!

  7. Canon 7D is a formidable camera! I was just about to buy the very same camera, but in the nick of time I guy tipped me off on Canon 60D.
Not quite the same as 7D, ,but being 76 I don’t cherish lying on my belly every time I’m about to use macro in insects or flowers. The 60D has a display that may be turned and twisted i all directions combined with ‘Live View’ which is very useful at times.
