Apple Harvest

It’s apple harvest season here in the Northeast, which  means plenty of good eating for the dogs. Yes, I know apple seeds contain small amounts of a toxin, but lots of luck keeping my gang away from them. We have several apple trees around our yard, which means lots of droppage. Hazer mostly likes to pick the apples up and carry them around. Then he buries them and proceeds to spend the better part of each day checking and rechecking to make sure “his” apples stay buried. Often, he’ll decide his stash isn’t safe, and he’ll dig them up, relocate and rebury them. Since he’s a wee bit obsessive-compulsive (Ya think?), this will turn into quite a daily ritual. It’s rare that he actually hunkers down and eats one of his coveted treats. So the picture above was somewhat unique. Below, he enjoys the fruits of his labor …. pun intended! ;)

One more picture  …. because I adore him ……

    • Hazer is such a great subject to photograph. He’s so laid back that I rarely end up with a big red blur. Neena? Forget about it! She has ants in her pants! Gotta love our handsome red goober boys!!!
